Romania was my first experience living abroad. At the beginning, I felt both nervous and excited, not knowing exactly what to do. But after meeting my flatmates and the other volunteers, everything became much easier. I also had the chance to meet many kind Romanian people and was warmly welcomed into their homes, which made the experience even more special. Getting to know different cultures and learning how we can live together gave me a completely new perspective. Overcoming challenges on my own boosted my confidence and helped me grow. This journey has been unforgettable for me, and I believe everyone should have such an experience at least once in their life.

Hi! I’m Şevval, 24 years old and from Turkey. I studied sociology and gained some experience in interviewing and content editing along the way. I joined AIDE because I’m curious about different ways of living and love the idea of growing through shared experiences. For me, volunteering is not just helping others, it’s also discovering new sides of myself and creating meaningful connections with people from all around the world.
