My volunteering experience with the European Solidarity Corps in Romania was truly life-changing. For the time i spent in Râmnicu Vâlcea, I had the chance to work closely with young people and adults with fewer opportunities, creating activities that supported their growth and inclusion. Beyond the impact on the community, this journey transformed me: I discovered new cultures, learned to adapt to unexpected situations, and grew more confident in myself. I also improved my English and even started learning Romanian, which made me feel even closer to the local culture. Most of all, I realized how important empathy, teamwork, and openness are in everything we do. This experience gave me not only skills for the future, but also unforgettable memories and lessons that will stay with me forever.

My name is Inês and I come from Portugal, more precisely from Torres Vedras, near Lisbon. I am 22 years old and in my free time I love writing and spending time with my friends and family. I successfully combine my studies with work, and now I have decided to dedicate my time to volunteering, with the wish to make a positive change in the community.
